to that time the law allows you to start an unenforceable

More Data
On Eversheds Debt Collectors
A
brief glance at the excellent MoneySavingExpert website will be enough
to summarise what Eversheds get up to. From their forum, a soon to
be discharged bankrupt asks why Eversheds have written to him saying
that they have bought a couple of old debts of his:
I
have had a couple of letters from a company called EVERSHEDS telling
me they have bought a couple of my debts from the original creditors.
Why would they buy them if there's a chance I am getting discharged
soon ... they are unlikely to get any money ...?
It
turned out that Eversheds were acting on behalf of their client, another
firm called Max Recovery. The answer from another forum member was
clear enough:
They're
a 2-bit company which buys debts for pennies in the pound in the
hope you should win the lottery.
Ohhh MAX
recovery.
They sell
these debts on as the companies concerned are useless. Nothing more,
nothing less. It is WHOLLY inappropriate for them to do so.... Given
that you are bankrupt, not only is it illegal (yes illegal) for
them to request money from you, but it is also illegal for you to
enter into communication with them.
So
either Eversheds or their clients is inciting this man to commit an
offence. Nice coming from a solicitor!
